Piki Houde began her journey many years ago as a massage therapist and received a diploma from one of the finest massage therapy schools in North America, Institute Maher Leveque ( Montreal). Having been professionally trained in Shiatsu, Swedish and Deep Tissue technique, she then opted to blend her unique understanding of the human body with a passion and dedication to yoga. Her journey has been broad and varied including time spent in India studying pranayama and yoga therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram school, intensive study with John Friend – receiving her certification as an Anusara instructor, and further education with renowned teachers such as Tom Myers, Elaine Summers, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and more. In addition she has studied Herbology & Reiki, and has meditated with and learned in the presence of great realized masters of eastern philosophy.
Her current passion is Kinetic Awareness. In her workshops, she teaches her students basic anatomy and therapeutic movement through kinesthetic therapeutic ball work. This practice is incredibly healing as students create a real experiential connection to their areas of tension and injury and learn techniques to change habitual patterns for a lifetime.
A private session with Piki will include her personal blend of bodywork techniques including Kinetic Awareness, pranayama (breathwork) , acupressure, energy work and a detailed exploration of specific needs and injuries.
