Learn the anatomy and physiology of the lower extremity and pelvis. We will discuss joints, ligaments and tendons. Skeletal and muscular anatomy and physiology will be covered. Attachments and actions of key muscles will be discussed for thorough comprehension. Movement practices will be included to increase understanding of this region. Common muscular injuries and issues in this area will be covered and modifications discussed.

November 25, 2018 - Upper Extremity and Spine

Learn the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory and respiratory systems. We will discuss the intimate relationship between the heart, lungs and breath. Gas exchange in the lungs will be discussed as well as the journey of blood through the body. Movement and breath practices will be incorporated to increase understanding and aware of this region.  

January 20, 2019 - Nervous and Digestive Systems

Description -
Learn the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system and digestive system. We will discuss the various branches of the nervous system and the benefits of relaxation. We will discuss the intimate relationship between the nervous system and digestion. Movement and breath practices will be incorporated to increase understanding and aware of this region.

February 3, 2019 - Fascia and Body Reading

Description -
Learn the anatomy and physiology of fascia. We will discuss the unique characteristics and components of fascia. We will explore the intimate relationship between muscle tissue, fascia and movement.  Bodyreading and observing holding patterns in the body can help yoga instructors understand limitations and dynamics of range of motion. Movement practices will be included to increase understanding of fascia and learn how to bodyread yourself and students.
