A Different Approach to Childbirth Education
We offer you flexibility and control over your childbirth education classes. You may take the classes as a full package, mix and match according to your schedule, time and interests, or simply take any one class as a stand-alone, supplement to other classes, or as a refresher. You do not need to take the classes in any particular order. Workshops are offered on an ongoing basis for your convenience in planning for the arrival of your baby. In studio privates and small-group sessions are available on a limited basis.
Essentials for a More Easeful Birth
The female body is infinitely wise, powerful and capable. But sometimes doubt, trepidation or even fear gets in the way. This can make it challenging to access all the innate body wisdom that naturally facilitates the birth process. Join us to discuss the body/mind connection at play before and during labor and ways that you can shift your perspective to help facilitate a more easeful, satisfying birth experience. You will also learn all the basics needed in preparation for birth, as well as the signs and stages of labor, milestones, options to consider and steps to take now in preparation for birth. The information you receive in this class will support you in making informed decisions in collaboration with your medical provider. As a jumping off point for our “Strategies” class, you will also get a head start on some birthing techniques that help to facilitate a more easeful birth. The information gained in this class is useful in hospital, birth center and home birth environments. For couples 25+ weeks.
NOTE: This class may be taken as a stand-alone.

Strategies for a More Easeful Birth
This class provides the opportunity for couples to practice proven comfort measures for managing contractions and, even more importantly, how to access the power of these techniques. This workshop provides a holistic perspective on birthing needed for those seeking a natural birth. However, the information gained in this class is also necessary and invaluable for those who need, or choose an epidural. Partners who take this workshop gain greater understanding of exactly how to provide support, learn effective hands-on comfort measures, and feel increased confidence in how they can participate more fully in this sacred event. Moms-to-be feel more confident and prepared for the journey of birth. The information you gain in this workshop is derived from yogic techniques and over a decade of birth support experience; honing what we know works best in support of laboring couples. This material is useful in any birth environment (hospital, home or birth center). For couples 25+ weeks.

Baby Preparation Workshops
Breastfeeding Basics & What to Expect in the First Six Weeks
The first six weeks with baby are often challenging but also quite magical as you begin to bond and settle in with your new family. During this time there are many adjustments and changes in body, mind and lifestyle, and at times it can feel daunting. This workshop will help you to navigate these changes and what you can expect during the first six weeks with your newborn as well as the importance of self-care (and what to expect in regards to your own body). You will also learn how to get started with breastfeeding, the specifics of positioning, latch and how to troubleshoot common breastfeeding issues. Most importantly, this workshop will dispel common misconceptions about breastfeeding (and all those stories you’ve heard), and help you to feel more confident in your ability to nourish your baby.
Don't wait until your baby is born to begin learning! This class is for pregnant women. We recommend that partners also attend (as they will learn about how to help you), but it is not required. This class is recommended for those 27+ weeks. Dress comfortably and bring a snack and water.
Sat. Dec 15th at Devi Ma Location
