This workshop covers all the basics that you and your partner need to know in preparation for labor and provides more preparation than the typical hospital-based class. You will learn the signs of labor, milestones of the birthing process, options to consider, steps to take now in preparation for birth, and key issues to discuss with your doctor or midwife. You will practice proven comfort measures for managing contractions and, more importantly, how to access the power of these techniques. This workshop provides a holistic perspective on birthing needed for those seeking a natural birth, however the information gained in this class is also necessary and invaluable for those who need, or choose an epidural. Partners will learn proven labor support methods, importance of advocacy, and how to participate more fully in this sacred event.
The information gained in this workshop may be used in hospital, birth center or home birth environments. This workshop is a great supplement, or alternative to a hospital class.
For couples 25+ weeks. Dress comfortably and bring a snack and water.
Note: This class may be taken as a stand-alone. For those who want more information and birth preparation, Essentials for a More Easeful Birth Part 2 is recommended.
