Class Descriptions

Align & Flow

Align & Flow is a vinyasa ( or "flow") style of yoga. The hallmark of a vinyasa yoga class is the linkage of poses that flow one into another. The flows are paced by focus on the breath. Emphasis is placed on building strength and endurance, refining alignment, and working with variations on basic postures. Align & Flow is offered at various practice levels:

Level 1 - Builds on the foundation of the Yoga Basics class and includes postures and flows for the beginner.
Level 1/2- Designed for the experienced beginner to increase the level of challenge.
Level 2 - Suitable for intermediate practitioners ready for more vigorous flows and poses.
Level 2/3 - For intermediate to advanced practitioners, this class is faster paced and includes advanced poses.

Align & Flow classes are offered mornings and evenings throughout the week. See class schedule.

Greet the Sun

Traditional yogic teachings have a strong and meaningful link with the sun. For thousands of years, dedicated yogis and yoginis have included Surya Namaskar (sun salutation) as a central aspect of yoga practice. In this 1-hour class you are guided through several invigorating rounds of sun salutation including its variations. You will learn and experience the deeper meaning of this classic flow and the specific benefits it holds for the physical and energetic body. We will round out this practice with pranayama (breathwork), and meditation during each session.

Sun Salutation is an invigorating practice. This class is ideal for those ready to dive into to the esoteric meanings of the yoga practice who have at least six months of yoga experience and familiarity with the basics of sun salutation.

Sundays 8:45 - 9:45am

Each session includes classic sun salutations, floor poses, a systematic practice of several pranayama (breath) techniques that powerfully calm and rejuvenate the body, guided deep relaxation, meditation and mantra. Hatha practice helps to establish a sense of mental and physical ease and peace in the body.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga style is a balancing practice that is complimentary to other styles of yoga. This reflective mind/body practice specifically targets the connective tissue, joints, meridians (energy pathways) and organs of the body. This practice can improve range of motion, but it also provides an opportunity for a deeper release and transformation of energetic congestion in the body (as a result of held emotions, habitual thought patterns, stress and life experiences).  A Yin class involves fewer poses that are held for longer lengths of time. Yin yoga challenges students to work slowly, mindfully and respectfully on their edge with instruction on how to personalize practice for the appropriate level of intensity according to individual needs.

Mondays 9:30 - 10:45am
Thursdays 10:45am - 12:00pm
Sundays 10:30 - 11:45am (begins October 22)
